Principal

Welcome message from Sharon Ingham, Principal of Hadrian Academy.

Thank you for your interest in our school. Hadrian Academy is a wonderful, lively and caring community school, located in east Dunstable.

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions parents have to make. We hope that this prospectus will help you make that choice.

We urge you to visit the school and have a good look around. Please book an appointment through the office. E-mail hadrianacademy@cbc.beds.sch.uk or tel 01582 618400.

Whilst looking around you will find a dedicated teaching team that works hard to achieve the best for our children and their learning. Children that are disciplined, helpful, happy, hard working and achieving their individual potentials.

Safeguarding procedures are given the highest priority.

We pride ourselves on the exciting curriculum and the standards in literacy and numeracy which are the bedrock for all other learning.

Our vision is to have a school of excellence building further on our identified strengths and caring ethos, where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

The vast majority of teaching is good or outstanding at Hadrian and standards at SAT’s in year 2 are consistently above the national average. In 2011 core subjects results were significantly above average in the core subjects of reading, writing and maths. These are standards that we will strive to maintain and look to exceed in the future.

Hadrian Academy is the only ‘Gold Sing Up’ school In Dunstable and all children have opportunities to learn an instrument and read music in Key stage 2. We enter children into LAMDA exams and provide scholarships for the Royal Academy of Dance, which holds its classes on Hadrian Academy school site.

Hadrian won the Best Sporting Lower School 2010/11. We believe in entering competitions, interschool and beyond, and see that encouraging sport and developing healthy lifestyles is a vital part of our role.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child/ren into our community and I am confident it will be a successful partnership over the coming years.

Sharon Ingham,
Principal
