Dear Parents,

The Governors are delighted to welcome you to Hadrian Academy.

We are proud that our school is a vibrant and happy school. The ethos is one of a safe and caring environment where all children are encouraged to work to their highest capabilities. A great deal of our curriculum development is taught through play or hands on learning, either in the classroom, playground or in whole school events such as growing in the school allotment, planning and implementing enterprise activities or making and flying school made kites.

Our professional teaching and non-teaching support staff work together as a team to provide an excellent standard of education for all pupils.

Safeguarding of every pupil is at the top of our agenda, with staff and Governors fully trained to recognise and respond, should it be necessary to protect your child.
We also review and implement all our policies, particularly those on Discipline, Special Educational Needs and Equal Opportunities on a regular basis. We had a very good report after our OFSTED Inspection in May 2011 which has resulted in our conversion to Academy status.

The Governing Body is experienced and has worked together with Sharon Ingham our Principal, over many years. Our duties as Governors are to raise standards and provide good accommodation including Information Technology throughout the school.

I am honoured to have been elected as your Chair of Governors for Hadrian Academy. This is a highly successful and motivated school, with an excellent record in Dunstable.
